Clubbed Thumb Announces A Return Engagement Of PLANO At The Connelly Theatre

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb (Maria Striar, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Bulger, Associate Artistic Director; Quinn Metal Corbin, Advancement Director) is proud to announce the return of Will Arbery's PLANO, directed by Taylor Reynolds. First seen last year in the 23rd SUMMERWORKS season, PLANO returns beginning April 8 for a limited engagement through May 11. Opening night is set for April 13 at the Connelly Theatre (220 East 4th Street). Tickets are now on sale at: https://www.artful.ly/clubbedthumb/store/events.

Tonight, and later, and earlier, three sisters (no, not those ones) are stricken with a series of strange plagues: Isabel's got pains. Anne's got slugs. And Genevieve doesn't want to talk about hers. She just wants you to eat the damn hummus (she made it!). Let's talk about family nightmares. I mean, uh, memories.

The return engagement of PLANO will star the complete original cast from the 2018 SUMMERWORKS production: Crystal Finn (Bobby Clearly, Kingdom Come), Susannah Flood ("For The People," The Effect), Miriam Silverman (Junk; You Got Older), Cesar Rosado (Seven Spots on the Sun), Ryan King (Deathbed), Brendan Dalton (Intuitive Men) and Mary Shultz (Small Tragedy; Clubbed Thumb's Dot).

PLANO will feature set design by Daniel Zimmerman, costume design by Stephanie Levin, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, sound design by Tyler Keiffer and choreography by Kelly Bartnik. Corinn Moreno will serve as stage manager.

General admission tickets for PLANO are $45; reserved seating is available for $60. Student tickets are $30. The performance schedule is as follows: Monday through Friday at 8pm; Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm.

Clubbed Thumb makes its Broadway debut this spring with Heidi Schreck's What the Constitution Means to Me, which premiered at the 2017 Summerworks festival, in partnership with True Love Productions.

SUMMERWORKS 2019 will run May 19 through June 29 at The Wild Project, located at 195 E. 3rd Street, New York 10009 - between Avenues A and B in Manhattan's East Village. The full lineup will be announced soon.

With its track record for discovering and supporting new playwriting talent - in many cases providing writers with their very first production in New York or anywhere - SUMMERWORKS is one of the most eagerly anticipated theatrical offerings of the year.

Highlights from the previous 23 festivals include the NYC premieres of Gina Gionfriddo, Jordan Harrison, Lisa D'Amour, Tanya Saracho and Sarah Ruhl; professional debuts of Rinne Groff, Sylvan Oswald, Clare Barron, Susan Stanton, Ariel Stess and Jaclyn Backhaus; and new works by Anne Washburn, Adam Bock, Gregory Moss, Jenny Schwartz, Ethan Lipton, Erin Courtney, Sheila Callaghan and Heidi Schreck. All of these artists continue to make Clubbed Thumb an artistic home.

Past SUMMERWORKS directors include Pam MacKinnon, Lee Sunday Evans, Lear deBessonet, Anne Kaufman, Davis McCallum, Leigh Silverman, and Ken Rus Schmoll.
