kef theatrical productions, in association with South Ark Stage (Rhoda Herrick, Producing/Artistic Director), presents the New York premiere of Wasserstein Award-winner Marisa Wegrzyn's comedy KILLING WOMEN. Directed by Adam Fitzgerald, previews begin Thursday, May 13 at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row with opening set for Sunday, May 16.

KILLING WOMEN is a satire of corporate America as viewed through a company of professional assassins. When Abby is simultaneously denied a promotion and asked to kill another woman, tempers flare, guns are fired and a life-or-death game of Monopoly ensues. Watch what happens when a woman is not taken seriously, but she does have a gun.

Lisa Brescia (Wicked, The Times They Are A-Changin', Woman in White), Brian Dykstra (The Jesus Factor) and Adam Kantor (Rent) join previously announced stars Autumn Hurlbert (Legally Blond), Lori Prince (Lyric is Waiting) and Michael Puzzo (Dirty Story) as the cast
of KILLING WOMEN. The production features sets by Joel Sherry (Lyric is Waiting) and costumes by Lisa Zinni (Hair). The stage manager is Kelly Hess.

Marisa Wegrzyn received the 2009 Wendy Wasserstein Playwriting Prize for Hickorydickory. Her black comedy The Butcher of Baraboo was produced in Steppenwolf Theatre's First Look Repertory in 2006, premiered Off Broadway at Second Stage in 2007, and was published in the Smith & Kraus anthology New Playwrights: The Best Plays of 2008. Her other plays include Psalms of a Questionable Nature, Ten Cent Night, and Diversey Harbor. Other theatres that have presented her
work include Chicago Dramatists, Moxie Theatre in San Diego, Victory Theatre Center in Burbank, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Rivendell Theatre, GeVa Theatre Center, Lucid by Proxy in Los Angeles,
Washington University and HotCity Theatre in St Louis, Nice People Theatre Company in Philadelphia, The Hourglass Group in NYC, Baltimore Centerstage, and The Magic Theatre in San Francisco. She is currently working on commissions from Steppenwolf and Yale Rep, a screenplay
adaptation of her play Diversey Harbor. Her writing was cited in The Chicago Reader's list, "Best of Chicago 2008." Marisa is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, works as a mentor for high school playwrights as part of Pegasus Players Young Playwrights Festival, and is a founding member of Theatre Seven of Chicago.
