Blue Man Group to Hold Open Casting Call 8/11

Blue Man Group, the wildly popular Off-Broadway sensation and international entertainment phenomenon, is looking for additional Blue Man performers with an open casting call in New York City on Monday, August 11 from 11:00am to 4:00pm at Blue Man Training Center (412 Broadway, 3rd Floor). As part of an international search for performers with the unique combination of qualities to be a Blue Man, the casting department looks to its Manhattan home to discover talented men and women to join existing Blue Man casts. The Blue Man casting team, joined by New York-based Blue Man Zach Greenblatt, will be available for interviews at the casting call.
What does it take to be a Blue Man? Blue Man is an egoless, genderless being. Male and female performers are encouraged to audition. All necessary audition equipment will be provided. The basic criteria to be a Blue Man: * Height between 5'10" and 6'1" tall (athletic build)* Solid drumming skills
* Excellent acting skills
* Willingness to relocateNew York native Blue Man performer Zachary "Zach" Greenblatt will assist in the drumming auditions. A recently hired Blue Man performer, Zach is a cast member at the Astor Place Theatre in New York City. Prior to officially becoming a Blue Man, he had been associated with Blue Man Group for several years. Zach was an intern during college and subsequently became a member of the Blue Man crew. Upon attending a casting call in Los Angeles this past January, he continued his Blue Man experience when he was called back to New York, entered Blue Man Group Boot Camp Training, and after a final audition in bald and blue on the Astor Place stage in front of a live audience Zach became a Blue Man. A graduate of Brooklyn elementary and high schools, Zach also attended New York's Hunter College.
