New House Manager Announced At Swift Creek Mill Theatre

Starting this fall, guests of the Mill have a new, charming face to turn to when they need help at the landmark venue. Whether they are visitors with an attending group, volunteers searching to make a difference, or individual patrons who have a question, Chuck Bowen is now the go-to manager for folks while they are at the Mill. He is no stranger to theatre, tourism, and outstanding customer service, which makes him the ideal person to help Swift Creek Mill patrons.

Tony Award-winner Leslie Odom, Jr., who originated the role of Aaron Burr in the Broadway megahit Hamilton, is coming to John Paul Jones Arena at 3PM on January 19 as the 2019 UVA President's Speaker for the Arts. The multi-talented entertainer will discuss his life and career, the impact of the arts on education, and on the world in which we live during a brief address followed by a moderated conversation with University of Virginia President Jim Ryan.

Virginia Stage Company partners with Outwire757, LGBT Life Center, and HRBOR for Fun Home Night Out - an evening of art and stories honoring queer narratives. All are welcome to attend on January 25 for a pre-show mixer at the Wells Theatre featuring Happy Hour drinks and gallery display of "My Family" - a photo project produced by the LGBT Life Center, which celebrates the unique diversity of LGBTQ+ families in Hampton Roads. The latest edition of OutLife757, Coastal Virginia's LGBTQ lifestyle magazine, will be available to all who attend, as well as copies of the "My Family" photo booklet.

Audiences are raving about Wolfbane's first Christmas show, Conor McPherson's The Seafarer! Due to the huge demand, the run of the show has been extended. Added performances are Friday, December 21 and Saturday, December 22. In association with Williams Collision Center and Jamerson Building Supply, Wolfbane is proud to host this incredible production at their new indoor location, The Wolf Den, located at 197 Old Courthouse Rd, Appomattox, VA, 24522.
