Firehouse Theatre Project Announces Final Acting Classes Of 2011

Firehouse Theater Project announces their remaining adult acting classes. Monday Evening Classes are almost full, with only a few spots left. Register online or call at [804]355-2001

Eight-week session begins Monday, October 24, and runs through December 12 with a student showcase that evening. Classes are 7-9 p.m. and held at the Firehouse Theatre, 1609 W. Broad Street, Richmond, VA. 23220. Cost is $165 for new students, $125 for returning students, and $5 off for season subscribers.

The final acting classes of 2011 will be taught by Instructor Daniel Moore.

The Late Henry Moss
Daniel Moore is an actor/director with over 30 years experience in professional theatre. He has worked with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Storefront Actor's Theatre, The Production Company, Park Square Theatre, Portland Stage Company, Mill Mountain Theatre, TheatreVirginia, Barksdale Theatre, and Essential Theatre among others.

Favorite directing credits include Rabbit Hole, American Buffalo, Boom Town, Who's Happy Now?, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Weeping Mary, Three Sisters, Our Town and Long Days Journey Into Night. Favorite roles as an actor include Alex in Facing East, Earl in The Late Henry Moss, Tilden in Buried Child (for which he won the 2000 Best Supporting Actor award from the Richmond Times-Dispatch), Martin in The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, Jerry in Blessed Assurance, (all at Firehouse Theatre), the title role in Short Eyes, Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, James Joyce in Travesties, Buford Bullough in F.M., and Weasel in T-Bone n' Weasel.

He is the author of Allegheny Sideshow, a two-act play that was presented as a staged reading at Firehouse Theatre in 2003. He was Founding Artistic Director of Essential Theatre, a professional company in Richmond now in hiatus. He has taught adult acting classes at Firehouse theatre for the last five years.

FTP Acting Students in the News:
Let's all say congratulations to acting student Anne Regan, currently studying with artistic director, Carol Piersol. Anne recently won a role with Chamberlayne Actors Theatre in Almighty Bob. Anne will also be featured in a Barksdale Bifocal Players presentation of Olive's on the Front Porch by local playwright Janet Chenoweth.
