Auditions: The Last 5 Years Music and Lyrics by Jason Robert Brown Presented By The Lower Ossington Theatre Directed by Heather Braaten Musical Direction by Mike Ross Auditions: Tuesday December 29th 2015 Casting all roles. Important Dates: Rehearsals begin January 2nd 2016 Show runs from January 21st to February 14th 2016 (with possible extension). Performances are Thursday thru Sunday weekly with multiple show times on Saturday. Jason Robert Brown's Drama Desk winner The Last Five Years has been translated into a handful of languages and was named one of Time Magazine's 10 best shows of 2001. An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show. We are seeking strong musical theatre performers. All should prepare one song in the style of the show and a dramatic monologue. This a paid non-equity contract.
