The performance is directed by Marc Anthony Glover.

Anyone of any race/ethnic origin over the age of 18 years old is invited to audition. We are looking to cast up to 20 actor/singers!

A head shot and resume would be greatly appreciated.

Prepare to sing a song in the style of the show that best shows your range and vocal ability. Songs from the show are allowed.

Bring a CD or USB drive with music on it if you wish to sing with a track (no background lyrics) or you may sing a capella as well.  Accompaniment will not be provided.

Please come with a planner to CONFIRM availability on all the dates listed above. While ALL actors may not be called for every rehearsal, we would like to have a clear idea of who can rehearse when.

A skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers “Audrey II” – an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood.  Soon, Audrey II grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, singing carnivore, offering fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite. The ending is not to be missed!

  • SEYMOUR: Insecure, naïve, put-upon florist’s clerk. Sweet, well-meaning, shy and awkward. But he is our hero!

  • AUDREY: Seymour’s co-worker in the flower shop. Not well educated, a bit of an airhead with very low self-esteem. Also true of heart and sweet.

  • MR. MUSHNIK: Owner of the failing Skid Row flower shop. Jewish, middle class New Yorker.

  • ORIN: Audrey’s egotistical, insensitive, abusive, sadistic, dentist boyfriend.

  • AUDREY II (The plant): Will be a voice and a puppeteer. Street-smart, conniving villain. Bluesy, deep, character voice.

  •  CRYSTAL, RONNETTE and CHIFFON: Trio of do-wop girls that serve as narrators, participants in the action and Greek chorus all in one. Strong voices with the ability to blend well.

  • MR. BERNSTEIN: Fast talking media hotshot

  • MRS. LUCE: A wealthy, snooty representative from Life Magazine

  • SKIP SNIP: Smooth, trench coat wearing East Coast talent agent

  • PATRICK MARTIN: Opportunist extraordinaire.

  • CUSTOMER: Patron of the flower shop

  • CHORUS: Residents of Skid Row, bums, customers, etc.
