A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER - Marblehead Little Theatre Non Equity Auditions

Marblehead Little Theatre is thrilled to announce non-Equity auditions for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Directed by Alexandra Dietrich, with book and lyrics by Robert L. Freedman, music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak, and based on a novel by Roy Horniman, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder runs January 26 through February 4, 2024.

Auditions will be held Saturday, November 4 from 2-5pm and Sunday, November 5 from 1-4pm. Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, November 8 at 7:30 pm (a more specific time window will be announced if a callback is offered). Actors are asked to prepare 32 bar cuts from contrasting songs (uptempo/patter and lyrical ballad) that show vocal range in the style of the musical. Examples of this would be Golden Age, Gilbert and Sullivan, Rodgers and Hart, Gershwin, Cole Porter, Comedic Sondheim. Operetta in English is welcome, a song displaying a British accent is encouraged, and songs from A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder are allowed. Bring sheet music to the audition, hole-punched in a binder, and an accompanist will be provided.
