Southern Rep Theatre Hosts Silent Auction Today

Southern Rep Theatre has announced the companies donating to its upcoming Southern Rep Celebrates Louisiana Annual Gala today, June 3, 2014 at the Windsor Court Hotel (300 Gravier Street, New Orleans, LA 70130) at 6:30 pm. Proceeds from the Gala (including all auction items) will go toward supporting the award-winning regional theatre company's 2014-15 Mainstage Season and Arts Education Programs for underserved New Orleans students.

The auction will feature more than $30,000 worth of luxury items and services donated by generous individuals and local and national brands including:

Goods include: indulgent travel, hotel, and spa packages, jewelry, sports tickets and memorabilia, fine dining experiences at award-winning restaurants, performing arts and fitness club memberships, rare wines, original art works, and a brand new Vespa.

Southern Rep Celebrates Louisiana will begin at 6:30 pm with a cocktail hour and Silent Auction, followed by a seated dinner at 7:30 pm with live entertainment hosted by Leslie Castay, and featuring Harry Mayronne, Jr., Clint Johnson, Troi Bechet, John Biguenet, and more. A live auction will be featured as a part of the dinner agenda.

The event will also include an awards ceremony honoring Dr. Bernard Jaffe M.D., Professor of Surgery Emeritus at Tulane University, with the Leadership in Excellence Award, William D. Reeves, President, Jane Austen Society of Louisiana, with the Supporter of the Year Award, and Madison Curry, 3x3 Playwright and Owner, Il Posto, with the Young Guard Award for their outstanding contributions to Southern Rep's success.

Southern Rep Celebrates Louisiana is open to the public, with entrée ranging from $150 to reserve a seat to $1,500 to sponsor a table. All reservations are partially tax-deductible.
