New Orleans Shakespeare Festival to Bring THE TEMPEST to Tulane
The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, New Orleans' professional classical theatre company, will close out its 24th Season with a magical production of Shakespeare's The Tempest.
"This play, considered to be the last play Shakespeare wrote alone, is an enthralling story about love, loss, and what's important in life," says Clare Moncrief, the show's director.
Wrongly accused and exiled for twelve years, Prospero sets out for revenge - and in the process, finds redemption. Both magical and moving, Shakespeare's masterpiece questions what it means to love and to forgive. It's a tale that the whole family will enjoy.

Public performances of The Tempest will run from July 7-23 in the Lupin Theater on the Tulane uptown campus. Runtime is approximately two hours, including one fifteen-minute intermission. 7:30 pm performances will be held on July 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 & 22. 1:30 pm matinees will be held on July 9, 16, & 23.
General admission tickets are $30. Discounts are available for students, teachers, seniors, and Tulane employees.
A special "family day" will be held on Sunday July 9. Families who use the code "FAMILYFUN17" when purchasing tickets will receive free admission to a lunch and preshow talk. Check out neworleansshakespeare.org/the-tempest for details and restrictions.
