Everybody wants to be a cat in Jefferson Performing Arts Society's Theatre Kids! production of the musical Disney's ARISTOCATS, KIDS! (Music and Lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman and Al Rinker and Floyd Huddleston . Music Adapted and Arranged and Additional Music and Lyrics by Bryan Louiselle . Book Adapted and Additional Lyrics by Michael Bernard . Based on the 1970 Disney Film THE ARISTOCATS) weekends at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre, 177 Sala Ave. in Westwego, April 1-10, 2011 with performances Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30PM and Saturdays & Sunday matinees at 2PM. Matias Grau, III once again directs the Theatre Kids! with choreography by Sally-Rose Cragin. One hundred Theatre Kids! bring this double-cast production to life and alternate performances! Everybody wants to be a cat in Disney's ARISTOCATS, KIDS! When Madame's jealous butler Edgar cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside, what's a cat to do? Luckily, Thomas O'Malley and his rag-tag bunch of Alley Cats come to their rescue! This feline adventure starring an all-kid cast is sure to get you tapping your feet to its hep, jazzy beat, which includes the Disney favorites "The Aristocats," "Scales and Arpeggios" and "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat."

This production is double-cast between the Duchess and O'Malley Casts with alternating performances.

The Jefferson Performing Arts Society's Arts Adventure Series presents kid-friendly main stage productions to school groups at discounted rates during the weekday. JPAS also provides FREE study guides for all Arts Adventure Series performances available for download at www.jpas.org (click "student field trips/matinees" under the "education and outreach menu"). Admission is only $5 for students. More About JPAS Theatre Kids!

JPAS Theatre Kids! proudly presents theatre and musicals for kids, performed by all-kid casts! Theatre Kids! welcomes kids ages 7-12 who want to learn more about the theatre and dramatic arts. Productions chosen for this program are based on educational experiences for the kids and of course, fun! How To Eat Like A Child is a JPAS Theatre Kids! Production and not included in season subscriptions.

The JPAS THEATRE KIDS! program began in Fall 2008. This program gives kids year-round opportunities to participate in theatre, experience the process of putting on a show as well as learning basic acting techniques and skills. There is no enrollment fee to participate and auditions for Theatre Kid! productions are held two months prior to performances. JPAS believes kids' enthusiasm and energy really invigorate the arts. Theatre Kids! activities give young people a chance to have fun with theatre, thus nurturing a life-long love of the arts.

JPAS provides performers, musicians, artistic experiences and expertise to select area events and organizations to enrich the community.
