102 Kids Take the Stage In 101 DALMATIANS with JPAS Theatre Kids 5/7-16

Look out for Cruella DeVil! Jefferson Performing Arts Society's Theatre Kids! brings Disney's 101 DALMATIANS to life by an all-kid cast at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre, 177 Sala Avenue in Westwego. Performances will be held May 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 7:30PM and May 9 and 16 at 2PM. Tickets are $10 for Kids (12 and under), $15 for Students (with valid ID)/Seniors (65+)/Military and $18 for Adults. One hundred and two kids are double-cast in this musical production directed by Matias Grau, III with choreography by Sally-Rose Cragin.

In a loving home in the city of London, Dalmatian parents, Pongo and Perdita happily raise their Dalmatian puppies, until the monstrous Cruella De Vil plots to steal them for her new fur coat! Join all the dogs of London, as they daringly rescue the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen. With a delightfully fun score, lovable characters, and one of the most deliciously evil villains in the Disney canon, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences!

In addition to public performances, JPAS Theatre Kids! will perform four special student matinees for school groups as part of the JPAS Arts Adventure Series May 11 and 12 at 9:45AM and 11:15AM. Student admission is $5 per student with one chaperone admitted free for every ten paid students. FREE coordinating study guides are available for download at www.jpas.org! The JPAS THEATRE KIDS! program, began this past Fall 2008. This program gives kids year-round opportunities to participate in theatre, experience the process of putting on a show as well as learning basic acting techniques and skills. JPAS realizes kids' enthusiasm and energy really invigorate the arts. Theatre Kids! activities give young people a chance to shine, have fun with theatre, and hopefully nurture a life-long love of the arts.
