East Lynne Theater Co Encourages Attendees To Visit Local Sites
By dining at several of Cape May's fine restaurants, or staying at one of two of Cape May's lovely B&Bs, patrons can save money on tickets for the Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company.
When making a reservation at the restaurant, all patrons have to do is ask for the ELTC-Dinner-Show-Combo. Tickets are purchased at the restaurant, and brought to the theater for admission. There are variations in the offerings.
At Aleathea's Restaurant at The Inn of Cape May, located at 7 Ocean St., the total amount is $47.00 for dinner, including tax and a token gratuity, plus the ticket. To make a reservation, call 884-5555. The opening night party for "Dulcy" on Wed. Sept. 21 will be here.
At 410 Bank Street, Fescos, a Seafood Trattoria, and The Washington Inn, patrons pay only $15 for a ticket as long as they order an entrée. This is half of the price of an ELTC general admission ticket. Reservations at 410 Bank Street, located at 410 Bank St., may be made by calling 884-2127; Frescos, at 412 Bank St., 884-0366, and The Washington Inn, 801 Washington St., 884-5687. The opening night party for "He and She" was held at The Washington Inn and it was lovely.
The two bed and breakfasts are The Henry Sawyer Inn, at 722 Columbia Ave., and The Victorian Lace Inn, 901 Stockton Ave. Tickets at both locations are $20.00, offered only to the B&Bs' guests, and must be purchased at the inns. For The Henry Sawyer, call 884-5667 or 800-449-5667 or online at www.henrysawyerinn.com. For Victorian Lace, phone 884-1772 or online at www.victorianlaceinn.com.
East Lynne Theater Company ticket prices are $30.00 for general admission and $25.00 for seniors, so the restaurant and B&B packages offer a considerable savings to patrons. ELTC ticket price for students is $15.00. Tickets for students and for those who are ages 12 and under, who are admission-free, may be picked up at the box office.
Another way to save money on an ELTC ticket, is online through njArtstix.org. Several half-price tickets are available for almost every performance, 24 hours in advance.
Currently, ELTC is presenting the classy Rachel Crothers comedy "He and She" through July 23. Recently praised by Tom Sims, reviewer for "Exit Zero," for being "tightly produced on a subject matter as timely as it is classic and engaging," the show runs Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:30p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., where the company is in residence. The season continues with "The World of Dorothy Parker," "Dulcy," "Helpful Hints," the Sherlock Holmes radio show, and the Christmas show. Season tickets are available through June 30. To learn more about the mainstage season which runs through mid-December, or to make reservations directly with the theater, call 884-5898 or go online to www.eastlynnetheater.org.
