The Capitol Center For The Arts Welcomes Jack Hanna

By:

Meet exotic animals from around the world as Jack Hanna, the host and creator of the Emmy-winner series Into the Wild, takes the Capitol Center stage tonight at 7 pm. His family-friendly live show features many of his favorite furry, feathered and reptilian friends from the Columbus Zoo, as well as fascinating, humorous stories and footage from his adventures around the world. Tickets for this family friendly event are on sale now for $25 to $45.

Jack Hanna is the host of the Emmy-winning television series Jack Hanna's Into the Wild and the new Saturday morning shows Wild Countdown and is one of America's most beloved naturalists and adventurers. Hanna takes millions of family viewers on exciting journeys each week to learn about animals and the places they live. Hanna's enthusiasm with every new creature and experience he encounters makes the series a success. Jack Hanna is considered "every person's" television zoologist.

Hanna received national attention after he became Director of the rundown Columbus Zoo in Ohio in 1978. He transformed the zoo into a model facility and through media savvy made the Columbus Zoo a household name. Hanna is a regular guest on "Good Morning America," "Larry King Live," and "The Late Show with David Letterman." He also makes countless personal appearances and speeches throughout the US.

His path to national celebrity began in Knoxville, Tennessee where he raised bluegills, first in his family's bathtub and then in their backyard. After majoring in business in college, Hanna started a pet shop and petting zoo with the help of his wife, Suzi, and worked for a wildlife adventure company while directing a small Florida zoo. The couple's move to Columbus with their three daughters was the start of Hanna's rising media star. He was not only a regular on national talk shows but he released his hit autobiographical book, Monkeys on the Interstate, in 1989.

Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo since 1993, Jack still remains active in the zoo and his community. For the past 30 years, Jack Hanna has worked extensively with animals as Director of the Columbus Zoo and also as host of the popular TV shows Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures, Jack Hanna's Into the Wild, and Wild Countdown. Hanna has made numerous regular appearances with his animal friends on Good Morning America and The Late Show with David Letterman. He has also appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Hollywood Squares, The Maury Show, Entertainment Tonight, FOX News and CNN programs, and various other news programs (as a wildlife correspondent).

Tickets for Jack Hanna's Into the Wild Live on October 7at 7pm are available for $25 balcony seating, $35 orchestra/mezzanine seating and $40 gold circle seating. Tickets can be purchased by calling 603-225-1111, online at www.ccanh.com, and at the box office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 pm
