Park Theatre to Salute Veterans at Special Movie Night

The Park Theatre is honoring military veterans and their families at a program that includes the screening of the MGM WWII epic film, The Great Escape on Saturday, November 12th at Jaffrey Woman's Club in downtown Jaffrey. The film is the final presentation of the 10th Annual Free Movie Festival produced by The Park Theatre.

Jaffrey and surrounding area veterans are invited to attend the theatre's Salute To Veterans in honor of Veterans Day. Veterans are welcomed to wear their uniforms. Free pizza and soft drinks will be served. Music will be provided by Bernie and Louise Watson. The special evening begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th at the Jaffrey Woman's Club located at 33 Main Street in Jaffrey.

The Park Theatre has produced a short film honoring veterans and it will premiere as part of its salute program before The Great Escape is presented on the big screen. The Great Escape was released in 1963 and directed by acclaimed director John Sturges (The Magnificent Seven, Bad Day at Black Rock, The Eagle Has Landed, Gunfight at the O.K. Corral). It stars Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Donald Pleasance, David McCallum and James Coburn. The film ranks at #120 in the "Top Rated Films of All Time" list on IMDb.com.
