One-Woman Show A GIFT OF MADNESS Comes to River St. Theatre

By:

The River Street Theatre announced that tickets go on sale today for A Gift of Madness, a solo play with song and masks, written and performed by Nancy Knowles. Hilarious and heart wrenching, A Gift of Madness is two gritty creative women swinging fists at fate and thumbing noses at demons. A witness survivor of sibling suicide, Knowles engineers her own thriving while pondering how her mother, stalked by loss, pulled off hers. A Gift of Madness will be presented on Friday & Saturday, April 28 & 29 at 7:30pm. Additionally, a matinee presentation at 2pm is scheduled for Sunday, April 30. This is the first play to be presented at the River Street Theatre, a project of The Park Theatre.

Graced with an "exceptionally beautiful" voice (Pittsburgh Post- Gazette), versatile artist Nancy Knowles lights up the stage with her ease, presence, and humor.

As a singer, actress, poet and visual artist, the multiplicity of Knowles' talents only serves to enrich each one. In her autobiographical play A Gift of Madness, Knowles showcases all of her art forms, from playwriting, acting and singing, to mask making and set design, spinning a powerful story through all of the senses.

A Gift of Madness premiered at the Hatbox Theatre in Concord, NH in November 2016. In February, the production was presented off-Broadway in New York City at The 125 Theatre.

Tickets are $20 each. Due to the intimate size of the River Street Theatre, it is highly recommended that tickets are purchased in advance. To purchase tickets with any major credit card, call the Box Office at 603-532-8888 or go to www.theparktheatre.org
