By: Jul. 06, 2010

OLIVER! IS HERE AT LEDDY CENTER! It will all begin with impoverished urchins marching down the aisles, singing, "Is it worf va wai'in foah? If we live til eigh'y-fouah, all we evh get is gruel!" Yes, every orphan at this workhouse, boasts a glorious accent that assures you that you are, indeed, in a London that punished the less fortunate. Leddy Center proudly presents their grand summer Broadway musical, Lionel Bart's famous "Oliver!".

"Oliver!" opens Friday, July 9, for three weekends plus two Wednesday matinees at 2:00pm, at Leddy Center's new beautiful air conditioned theater on Ladd's Lane in Epping! Damian Raymond is Mr. Sowerberry, and Lauren Campbell is Mrs. Sowerberry, keepers of the funeral parlor to which Oliver is apprenticed. An all-star supporting cast includes 14 orphans, 12 Fagin's Gang members, and an outstanding ensemble of singers and dancers. Nick Kalantzakos is MR. Brownlow, Jane-Ann Fuller is Mrs. Bedwin, and Chet Fuller is Dr. Grimwig. Beautiful music, such as "Who Will Buy", "Where is Love?", and As Long as He Needs Me" mix in with the raucous "Oompapa" and "Consider Yourself" for the greatest of entertainment.
