New London Barn Playhouse Announces 2018 Season The award-winning New London Barn Playhouse is thrilled to announce the line-up for their 2018 Summer Season. The 86th Season is jam-packed with Broadway hits, and audiences can expect 2018 to have more laughter, more superb singing, and more thrilling dancing than ever before!

The 86th Summer Season follows the truly historic 2017 Summer Season, which boasted shattered Box Office records with both West Side Story and On Golden Pond; the 2017 Moss Hart Award for Professional Excellence, the second time the Barn has been honored in as many years; and over 100 guest artists, designers, staff, and Acting Interns, who shared their talents with and made their home in beautiful New London.

The Main Stage series of the 2018 Summer Season opens with the most legendary love triangle of all time: Lerner & Loewe's award-winning classic musical Camelot, running June 13-24. Last seen on the Barn stage in 2006, Camelot features an idealistic young King Arthur, dreaming of creating a kingdom based on honor, dignity, and "Might for Right." But his principles are sorely tested when when his beautiful queen Guinevere falls in love with his strongest knight, Lancelot.New London Barn Playhouse Announces 2018 Season

Following Camelot is another award-winning literary adaptation. Louisa May Alcott's Little Women is celebrating 150 years as one of America's most beloved novels, and this stunning musical adaptation brims with hope, heartache, and the resiliency of the American spirit. Little Women celebrates the now-familiar members of the irrepressible March family, in a story that dares everyone to reach for their own dreams and be "Astonishing." Little Women runs June 27 - July 8.

The first play of the 2018 season is a deliciously dizzy, howlingly funny comedy that asks the question, "Do you really know what your dog is thinking?" A.R. Gurney's Sylvia is a Broadway smash hit about love, loyalty, and the joys and pitfalls of genuine human - and canine - connections. Running July 11-15, Sylvia is a Barn premier, and is sure to leave you begging for more.

The ultimate show-biz musical is, without a doubt, 42nd Street, which will be tapping into the Barn on July 18 - August 5 for the first time since 1999. Bursting with show-stopping dance numbers and countless beloved Broadway standards including "We're In the Money," and "Lullaby of Broadway," 42nd Street is a Tony Award-winning favorite that will knock your tap shoes off!

Keeping with the exhilarating dancing and non-stop thrills of 42nd Street, the Barn is excited to present the New Hampshire premier of Disney's musical sensation Newsies, August 8-19. Newsies tells the David-and-Goliath story of a ragged band of New York street urchins who took on publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst. Adapted from the 1992 Disney film, and based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, Newsies features an Alan Menken (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid) score and won the 2012 Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Choreography.

Closing out the Main Stage series for the 2018 Summer Season is another Barn premier. Murder For Two is equal parts Agatha Christie, Groucho Marx, and Cole Porter, and runs August 22 - September 2. This hilarious musical whodunit boasts a cast of exactly two: one performer to investigate the crime, the other to play all of the suspects. And of course, they both play the piano!

Of course, a summer at the Barn wouldn't be complete without the always exciting Straw Hat Revue, now in its' 61st year and running June 7-10. The Straw Hat Revue is your first chance to meet the 2018 Acting Intern Company, who will be starring in and working eagerly to create the productions Barn audiences will enjoy all summer.

Over the years, audiences have come to love the Barn's New London Barn Intern Idols! series of Monday night cabarets. Theatergoers can expect the same sensational hour of entertainment in 2018, but with some thrilling new additions. More details will be released in the new year.

Running concurrently with the Main Stage season, audiences can also expect to enjoy our always popular Children's Series, performed by our outstandingly talented Junior Interns. The full Children's Series will be announced at a later date, along with details on Junior Intern auditions.

In addition to the Children's Series, the Barn's Education wing will continue to offer the full range of Summer Camps that have brought exceptional theater education to hundreds of families in our region. And so that no family wishing to bring the joy of theater into their children's lives is turned away the Barn is proud to offer tuition forgiveness for qualifying households. Full programming will be announced later this winter.
