NHTP Youth Repertory Presents WONDER TALES

New Hampshire Theatre Project's Youth Repertory Company will present Wonder Tales, a collection of stories, legends and tales of wonder from around the world adapted by Genevieve Aichele. Perfect for the whole family to enjoy together, Wonder Tales features two stories about resourceful young women who outwit the powers that be - the magical story of Tam Lin from Scotland and the hilarious Eastern European tale of Clever Manka. Audiences will be carried far into the future with the mysterious story of A Pail of Air and far into the past exploring the secrets of magnetism in Laws of Attraction. Genevieve Aichele's story theatre adaptation of folktales, legends and science mysteries have been performed by thousands of children in schools throughout New England

Each actor in the NHTP Youth Repertory Company will play multiple characters, using a variety of theatrical styles on this magical journey. The technique of story theatre emphasizes ensemble performance, a hallmark of New Hampshire Theatre Project's mission of collaboration and community-building.

Wonder Tales features Laura Bloser and Cleo Podrasky from Portsmouth, Adam and Sarah Hoskin from Rye, Kalani Lohndorf and Delaney Roache from Stratham, and Mischa Landgarten from Kittery.

Celebrating its 20th year, the NHTP Youth Repertory Company recruits students for whom personal growth and learning about the fundamentals of theatre are a priority. All NHTP programs emphasize the ensemble aspect as well as the process of theatre, and technique rather than "spectacle." There are no "stars" and every team member is equally important to the collaboration. Alumni stress that the program taught them to be leaders, strong communicators and creative thinkers, crediting NHTP with their success in both college and professional careers.
