Meet Author Celeste Ng And Guest Moderator Joe Hill at Writers In The Loft

By:

Writers in the Loft hosts Celeste Ng, whose New York Times bestseller, LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE, was named a "Best Book of 2017" by critics at NPR, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, People, and Entertainment Weekly. The tale unfolds in Shaker Heights, a placid, progressive suburb of Cleveland, OH, where everything is planned, from the layout of the winding roads to the colors of the houses to the successful lives its residents will lead.

Through the lens of Ng's deeply human cast of characters, the book examines the uncomfortable truths we're all reckoning with in our various communities-issues of privilege and identity, of the right to motherhood, of ideals versus action. The hour-long event includes a Q+A moderated by #1 New York Times bestselling author Joe Hill, who was recently featured in The Music Hall's Writers in the Loft series with his newest book, STRANGE WEATHER: Four Short Novels. After the formal program, both authors will greet event-goers, fans, and readers in the Lobby and sign books as requested.

Tickets: The ticket package for Writers in the Loft: Celeste Ng in conversation with Joe Hill on Thursday, June 7, at 7pm is $41 ($39 for members). In addition to a reserved seat, the package includes a copy of LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE ($27 hardcover), a bar beverage, Q+A, and book signing meet-and-greet. Packages can be purchased online at TheMusicHall.org, over the phone at 603.436.2400, or in person at the B2W Box Office at the Historic Theater, 28 Chestnut Street. Fans and readers can join the post-show Lobby gathering with the purchase of a book, in advance or on the night ($27).

About the Author: Celeste Ng grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Shaker Heights, Ohio. She attended Harvard University and earned an MFA from the University of Michigan. Her debut novel, Everything I Never Told You, won the Massachusetts Book Award, the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature and the ALA's Alex Award. She is a 2016 NEA fellow, and she lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

About the Moderator: Joe Hill is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the novels The Fireman, NOS4A2, Horns, and Heart-Shaped Box, and the prize-winning story collection 20th Century Ghosts, and his latest book, Strange Weather: Four Short Novels. He is also the Eisner Award-winning writer of a six-volume comic book series, Locke & Key.

About Writers in the Loft

Akin to The Music Hall's anchor literary series, Writers on a New England Stage, Writers in the Loft features bestselling authors in a smaller, more intimate space. The series brings audiences today's top writers, the best of fiction and nonfiction, and award-winners across categories. The evening package includes a reserved seat and bar beverage, author presentation and/or Q+A, a copy of the book, and a meet-and-greet book signing with the featured writer.
