Acclaimed guitarist David William Ross will perform at Jaffrey's River Street Theatre (RST) on Wednesday, July 26 at 7:30pm.

David William Ross is a guitarist, composer, producer living in New England. His work is at once borne of the classical tradition while still drawing freely from non-western, avant-garde, and popular sources; a voice that is distinct and unique but also holistic and encompassing. His work has been described as ephemeral and fleeting as well as rational and composed; noted for intricacy and complexity as well as for clarity and simplicity. DWR merges the disparate disciplines of his field into a single unified artistic effort to bring the creative impulse to light. Whether he is performing the work of J.S. Bach, writing an aleatoric performance piece, or recording a folk-rock band, his work, in effort and effect, in sound and words, is always grounded in the visceral experience of the art, an impulse of the art itself.

David currently serves on the faculty of Fitchburg State University, the Concord Community Music School, and Elm City Music. He teaches music theory, ear-training, music history, art aesthetics, guitar, and improvisation. He has also taught courses at Keene State College and the Vermont Jazz Center. In addition, David does recording work for PARMA Recordings and works as a session/studio player specializing in new music and improvisation performing on nylon, steel-string, and electric guitars in both chamber/combo and solo settings. Additionally, he has performed for Monadnock Music, Portsmouth Performing Arts Center, IBIT Dance Company and MONIFF.

The Equinox calls David, "a refreshing reminder of what the guitar is capable of in the hands of a passionate musician."
