Set in the unkempt West Hollywood apartment of struggling screenwriter Herb Tucker, Neil Simon's three-character comedy-drama follows Herb as he decides to take another stab at fatherhood and, hopefully this time, get it right. Herb is surprised when Libby, his aspiring actress daughter, treks from Brooklyn fully expecting her "well-connected" father to help her fulfill her dreams of dreams of movie stardom. But it soon becomes clear that the underemployed Herbert and his sometimes girlfriend, Steffy, are not in any position to advance anyone else's career.
