What happens when a liberal, a conservative, and a beauty queen are locked in a hotel room together? See for yourself when merit and mayhem collide in this all-female political farce by Lauren Gunderson that rings so true it hurts. Inspired by Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew Gunderson's play delves into the motives and muses of American politics as well as what it means to be a woman in the proverbial boy's club. The San Francisco Chronicle said, "Gunderson's Taming is a laugh riot with some timely food for thought." It was praised by The Idiolect as "the most tremendously entertaining civics lesson you're likely to see."
The Taming is directed by Elizabeth 'Lily' Cardaropoli ( The Tempest, 2016), and stars ATTP familiar faces Pam Schnatterly and Lucy Randall-Tapply along with Caitlin Cremins in her ATTP debut. The production team includes Stage Manager Katherine Pereira, Costumes by Carolyn Hart.
Advice To The Players is a unique company of theater professionals, enthusiastic community members and energetic teens that has been performing Shakespeare and offering workshops in New Hampshire's Lakes and Mountains Region since 1999. Our award-winning productions bring William Shakespeare's richly passionate plays to life and introduce new generations to live theater and to Shakespeare's brilliantly rendered portraits of humanity.
