AN EVENING BERNIE & LOUISE Set for River Street Theatre 6/21

By:

Jaffrey and the Monadnock Region can boast two entertainers that have a local and global following: Bernie & Louise Watson. The talented husband and wife duo will perform in their hometown of Jaffrey on Wednesday, June 21 at the River Street Theatre (RST), a project of The Park Theatre. There will be one performance at 7:30pm.

Regular performers at Jaffrey's Monadnock Inn, Bernie hails from England and Louise has Jaffrey roots. They both performed on Cunard Line ships as entertainers. Their music brought them together. One newspaper called their partnership as "A melodious love story for the ages." Their performing repertoire spans 100 years of popular songs and music. The RST performance will include music, songs, stories, conversation and lots of love.

Tickets for "An Evening with Bernie & Louise" are $10 and can be purchased by calling the RST box office at (603) 532-8888 or by visiting online at www.riverst.org. Due to the limited size of the RST, advance ticket purchase is highly recommended.

The River Street Theatre is located in downtown Jaffrey, New Hampshire at 6 River Street. The River Street Theatre is sponsored by: Grove Street Fiduciary, Coca-Cola, the Board of Trustees of the Park Theatre, Janet S. Grant, Betty Locke, Owen Houghton and the James F. & Fernande Kelly Charitable Trust.

The Park Theatre first opened in Jaffrey in 1922 and was the center of community life as a movie and vaudeville house for 54 years until it closed in 1976. Purchased by The Park Theatre, Inc. in 2006, it will be rebuilt as a state-of-the-art film and performing arts center, featuring two auditoriums seating 485, presenting movies, live theatre (including children's productions), concerts, and lectures as well as offering a place for business and community gatherings for the Monadnock Region and its 100,000 residents, school districts and dynamic artistic community. The new theatre is scheduled to be opened in 2018.

The Park Theatre operates the River Street Theatre, a small live entertainment and movie venue located adjacent to the construction site as an interim theatre until the new Park Theatre opens.
