This touching story set in a beauty parlor in Chinquapin, Louisiana, centers around six women who share their regular hair appointments, gossip and important life moments, such as Shelby’s wedding to a “good ole boy.” Over the course of time the bonds strengthen among them as Truvy, Annelle, Ouiser and Clairee comfort M’Lynn through the loss of her child. This story demonstrates how, as Truvy says, “Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.”
Suitable for most ages (rated PG, some mature themes)
Run time: over 2 hours
Watershed Public Theatre will close its 2025-26 season with Robert Harling's STEEL MAGNOLIAS at Columbia State Community College's Ledbetter Auditorium in Columbia, TN, featuring a cast of six women.
