Nashville Symphony is getting ready for the warm weather with a variety of fun, festive summer events planned for May, June and July.

Schermerhorn Symphony Center opens its doors for the annual Regions FREE Day of Music on Sunday, May 22, at noon. Previously held in the fall, this hugely popular event invites the entire community to enjoy free musical performances all day long and into the night. More than 20 local performers, including Music City Youth Orchestra, the jazzy Latin sounds of the San Rafael Trio, organist Andrew Risinger and big band ensemble, The Establishment, will perform throughout the building. The music will range from classical to jazz to pop, with a 7 p.m. concert by the Nashville Symphony in Laura Turner Concert Hall.

Associate Conductor Kelly Corcoran and Resident Conductor Albert-George Schram have planned a string of great programs for the Symphony's Region's Community Concerts. Featuring a mix of beloved orchestral favorites, classic tunes and unforgettable movie music, this year's concerts include "A Salute to the Boston Pops," featuring works by Gershwin, John Williams, Leroy Anderson and more; "Hoe-Down," a musical celebration of the American West, featuring the William Tell Overture and Copland's Rodeo; and "Russian Fireworks," featuring Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, the waltz from Sleeping Beauty and much more. Nashville Symphony will offer the opportunity to win concert tickets at each performance. So pack a picnic, load up the lawn chairs, bring the family and enjoy a night of music under the stars!

Except where noted, all concerts are free and are led by Associate Conductor Kelly Corcoran.
