Nashville Symphony Orchestra to Feature McDonald, Jewel et. al; Tickets on Sale Aug. 14

By:

On Saturday, August 14, music lovers will have their first chance to purchase single tickets for the Nashville Symphony's 2010/11 season. Scheduled to run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Symphony's annual Single Ticket On-Sale Day will include an exclusive $20 ticket offer for select concerts taking place this fall. All tickets will be available for purchase either by visiting the Symphony's website, NashvilleSymphony.org, or by calling the Nashville Symphony Box Office at 615.687.6400.

The special $20 tickets will be available for certain concerts in the SunTrust Classical Series, including The Rite of Spring on November 4-6; the Bank of America Pops Series, including Michael McDonald on September 23-25 and Jewel on November 11-13; and the Adams and Reese Jazz Series, including David Sanborn with Joey DeFrancesco on October 10. In addition, $20 tickets will be available for some special events, including Beethoven's Ninth on September 10-11 and Handel's Messiah on December 16-18.

Along with the $20 tickets, the Symphony will be offering another special deal for all ticket buyers: For every $100 they spend, patrons will receive a $10 credit, which they can use on any future purchase of tickets to the Symphony's 2010/11 season.

Due to the flooding in early May, all concerts originally scheduled at Schermerhorn Symphony Center through December will take place at other Nashville venues, including TPAC, War Memorial Auditorium and Lipscomb University's Allen Arena, while the Schermerhorn continues to undergo repairs. The building will reopen to the public in January 2011. A complete schedule for the Symphony's 2010/11 season is posted at NashvilleSymphony.org.
