GroundWorks Theatre debuts 'Christmas on the Pecos' for 12/4-12/20 run at Darkhorse Theatre

By: Nov. 16, 2009

Director/playwright Robert A. O'Connell's latest work, Christmas on the Pecos, opens in a new production at Darkhorse Theatre December 4-20, the latest offering from GroundWorks Theatre.

Described as "a gentle comedy," Christmas on the Pecos takes place on Christmas Eve as two modern cowboys, sheltering from a storm, find themselves playing host to a couple seeking protection from the elements and the law.

"The arrival of Angel Vasquez and Rosa, his very pregnant wife, is soon followed by a man who thinks he just might be Santa Claus, two members of the U.S. Border Patrol and one amazing angel, who all make this a most memorable holy night," reads a release from GroundWorks Theatre.

Christmas on the Pecos runs December 4-20 on Tuesdays and Thursday through Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. on December 6, 13 and 20, at the Darkhorse Theatre, 4610 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors 55 and older. The Darkhorse is wheelchair accessible.

For reservations, call (615) 262-5485, or for tickets, group rates and more information, go online at www.groundworkstheatre.com.
