Tennessee Performing Arts Center has announced its event calendar for the 2010-2011 season.

A CHORUS LINE
May 4-9, 2010
In an empty theatre, on a bare stage, casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete. For 17 dancers, this audition is the chance of a lifetime. It's what they've worked for - with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every day of their lives. It's the one opportunity to do what they've always dreamed - to have the chance to dance. This is A CHORUS LINE, the musical for everyone who's ever had a dream and put it all on the line. Winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the Pulitzer Prize for drama, this singular sensation is the longest-running American Broadway musical ever.

DREAMGIRLS

Direct from Harlem's world famous Apollo Theater in New York City, a sensational new stage production of DREAMGIRLS comes to Nashville! An Evening with Liza Minnelli

The legendary Liza Minnelli is coming to the The Tennessee Performing Arts Center! Liza will sing sensational American Standards in a glamorous and intimate concert. The show will feature some of the greatest songs of all time performed in their purest, most intimate form with Liz a and her quartet. Liza will be accompanied by Billy Stritch.

SHREK THE MUSICAL
January 25-30, 2011
SHREK THE MUSICAL tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren't only found in fairy tales.

It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggle can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN
May 10-15, 2011
This wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) as he attempts to create a monster--but not without scary and hilarious complications. The brains behind the laughter is mad genius and three- time Tony¨ winner Mel Brooks himself--who wrote the music and lyrics and co-wrote the book- along with his record-breaking team from "The Producers": five-time Tony-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman and three-time Tony-winning writer, Thomas Meehan.
