On September 24th, 2013, Centaur Theatre Company will host A Season of Songs, the 9th edition of their annual fundraising gala. This year's theme is inspired by the changing seasons as well as Centaur's upcoming 45th season, Centaur Plays in Colour. Guests will be greeted by a colourful decor, with performers dressed fantastically as fall, winter, spring and summer!

In Montreal's notoriously raucous heyday, it was known as 'Sin City of the North'. Here was an epicenter of entertainment and debauchery where gangsters, showgirls and jazzmen ran rampant; where champagne flowed like water and the clubs were 'noisy, sexy and had plenty of bounce'. This according to the illustrious nightlife journalist, Al Palmer, himself a well-pickled denizen of Montreal's sexiest corners. Enter Plateau men-about-town The Wiggle Room's proprietor, Jeremy Hechtmanand General Manager Patrick Charron. They, along with burlesque maven Holly Gauthier-Frankel and her famous alter-ego Miss Sugarpuss, welcome you to Montreal's premiere show bar. At The Wiggle Room, vintage style meets contemporary cabaret, and classic and signature cocktails are served nightly to patrons enjoying neo-vaudeville variety, comedy, burlesque and live music. The Segal Centre will swing into its 2013-2014 Theatre Season with the Tony Award-winning musical Ain't Misbehavin', The Fats Waller Musical Show, conceived by Richard Maltby Jr. and Murray Horwitz. Presented in Montreal for the first time in over twenty years, this classic jazz-age musical revue is revived at the Segal Centre under the direction of Roger Peace and featuring a stellar cast led by Kim Richardson and Toya Alexis. In co-production with Copa de Oro Productions and sponsored by KPMG, Ain't Misbehavin' runs fromSeptember 29th to October 20th, 2013 in the Segal Theatre.

This time, it's to raise funds for the people of Lac-Megantic. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Canadian Red Cross. La Sala Rossa has generously donated use of their venue for this event.

The Segal Centre for Performing Arts is proud to conclude its record-breaking 2012-2013 theatre season with the world premiere Yiddish musical Tales From Odessa, based on the stories of Isaak Babel, book by Derek Goldman and music & lyrics by Josh 'Socalled' Dolgin. A Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre production directed by Audrey Finkelstein, Tales From Odessa runs in the Segal Theatre from June 16th to July 7th, 2013; in Yiddish with English and French supertitles.

Lakeshore Light Opera's summer sing-alongs are back - for the 24th. straight year, would you believe? For the few amongst you who have never attended one of these events; each Tuesday, we get together at the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Pointe Claire and, starting at 8 pm., we sing an entire Gilbert and Sullivan opera. We provide scores (although we encourage you to bring your own if you have one) and we all sing everything - no soloists or divas, just people that like to sing! What's more, it's free. Just turn up by yourself, with friends or colleagues - as you wish. All are most welcome.
