Quebec City's Morrin Centre holds its Arts Alive! Québec (AAQ) festival on Canada's birthday weekend, July 2nd & 3rd.

Interim Executive Director, Elizabeth Perreault, shared, "For our third annual participation in Arts Alive! Québec, we want to showcase local talent and offer a fresh new sound in a historic setting. Like our building which has had so many functions, from prison, to college, to library and cultural centre, our festival isn't just an English-language music event; it's a smorgasbord of music, arts, and culture all mixed together."

Sunday, July 2
During the day the Morrin Centre is offering free workshops for all ages. Later that evening, local musicians take to the stage beginning with Sam Jones at 6:30pm, followed by Patrick Krief, former guitarist for the Montreal band, The Dears, and special guests, Final State, who top off the evening with their latest hit "Fever" and more.

10am - 12pm: Workshop for children with Book Quest Coordinator | FREE
10am - 12pm: Word After Word Workshop with Carmelita McGrath (Adults) | FREE
1pm - 3pm: Word After Word Workshop with Carmelita McGrath (Young Adults | FREE

Monday July 3

From noon to 4pm, the chaussée des Écossais will be transformed into an outdoor fair, free of charge and open to all, enlivening the street for Canada Day revelers. Artists and their wares as well as various organizations will be on hand giving out information and meeting the public, while a different musical group will perform on the outdoor stage every hour.

12:00pm: Vibrant Voices interactive choir
1:00pm: Dave Parker Saxophonist and Groove Quartet
2:00pm: Arythmetic cover band
3:00pm: Jay Sewall jazz & blues harmonicist

About the Morrin Centre
The Morrin Centre is an English-language cultural centre that promotes the heritage of the English-speaking community of Quebec City, fosters cultural exchange and offers a wide range of activities including library services, guided tours, readings by prominent authors, writing workshops, a writers' festival and much more. The 200 year-old building, listed as a National Historic Site, is managed by the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec.
