In Tanzania, the body parts of people with albinism are made into expensive potions, which have spawned a slew of mutilations and murders since 2007. Peter Ash, a native Montrealer, founded the charity organisation Under the Same Sun (UTSS) in response to these killings. UTSS is the only international charity working in Tanzania to prevent violence against people with albinism. When asked about his work with UTSS, Ash said: "I have albinism myself. These are my brothers and sisters getting slaughtered, what can I do to help? I can't sit idly by here in Canada and do nothing." Tonight, April 11, Peter Ash will speak and participate in a post-show discussion at the MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels).

Blind was written by Canadian playwright Lindsay Wilson after she travelled to Tanzania to volunteer with UTSS. The play, produced by the award-winning Scapegoat Carnivale Theatre and presented by the MAI, will be running at the MAI from April 3 to 13. There will also be talkbacks after the show on Saturday nights. Throughout the run donations will be raised for Under the Same Sun.

Blind will run for 9 shows only) April 3-13 at Scapegoat Carnivale at the MAI, 3680 rue Jeanne-Mance. Showtimes are 8pm- on Friday April 4, Saturday April 5, Sunday April 6, tonight, April 11 (Peter Ash post-show event), and Saturday April 12 . Talkbacks will be on Saturday nights (April 5 and 12) after the show and at 3pm on Sunday April 6, Saturday April 12, and Sunday April 13
