Dazzling entertainment, a sumptuous cocktail di'natoire, and exciting live and silent auctions await Centaur Theatre guests at this year's LUMINOUS Gala on September 29.

"We're looking forward to an evening that is going to light up Centaur Theatre," says Howard Golberg, President of Centaur's Board of Directors. "We've been organizing this annual event for 11 years now to help raise funds to support Centaur and its mission of offering entertaining and thought-provoking live professional theatre." Since the gala's inception in 2005, the event has raised over $1 million to support Centaur's productions, development of local artists, and outreach programming.

The gala, sponsored by RBC, will take place at 6PM at Centaur Theatre in Old Montreal. Guests will be greeted by delightful theatre characters in luminous costumes. In the glittering gallery, By George! will serve a lavish cocktail di?natoire featuring, among other treats, freshly shucked PEI oysters, carvery of Black Angus Chateaubriand, and Grand Marnier truffles, all paired with wine graciously offered by the SAQ.

Many alluring prizes await at the silent and live auctions hosted by the hilarious and debonair Aaron Rand from CJAD, including once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as a flight in the cockpit of a CAE-built flight simulator, a walk-on role in Centaur's Last Night at the Gayety, and an intimate, exclusive performance by Bowser & Blue in the winner's home. Other fantastic auction prizes include VIP hockey tickets in the RBC loge during a Montreal Canadiens game and enticing getaways, such as a luxury African river safari aboard the Zambezi Queen. CTV's Lori Graham, a gala favourite, will be on hand to sell tickets for the mysterious Treasure Chest.

Following the auction, Centaur will honour long-time supporter Dennis A. Sharp, chairman of PetroMaroc Corporation.

The event will culminate with some brilliant entertainment, featuring a musical performance by Jackie Richardson, one of Canada's foremost singers of blues, gospel, and jazz and a star of Centaur's The Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God, co-produced by the National Arts Centre and in association with Black Theatre Workshop. The Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God opens on September 24th.

After the desserts and digestifs, all guests will receive exclusive gifts, including Marcelle products and tickets to Centaur's 2015/2016 season.
