TRIBUTE CONCERT WAS BRIGITTE ENGERER
This is the song that talks about the Russian soul! If in Russian music virtuosity is still there, difficult to master for those who play, it nevertheless passes to second place behind the melody which surprises us by its intensity. The concert fantasy (1884) is a GTT today fallen into relative oblivion. but when as lyrical as Brigitte Engerer interpreters defend it, she finds all of its brilliance and originality.
Symphony No. 2 (1907) Rachmaninov's is one of the best-known works of the composer. Generous melodies almost endless us prevail. There lies the charm of the music of Rachmaninov: she sings, even if the severity of the construction.
"It is something that takes the unspeakable in the relationship between a master to a student. At the same time mentor, teacher, model, the first attempts to shape the second, while giving it the tools to become self-sufficient. But there was much more than that in what I have shared with Brigitte Engerer since my arrival in France until his tragic death.
His generosity, his quasi-excessif love and life, his taste for pleasure and his keen sense of psychology were it an exception being, and a master whose advice will guide never my musician life.
It is with great emotion and humility so I pay tribute as the imitation of Tchaikovsky, rare concert that cherished the most Russian of the French pianists' Kimberley Yeritsyan
