Helen Hanff lives in New York, on 95th Street. In 1949, atwenty-three years, she began a correspondence with the Marks & Co. booksellers in London. This "reader/writer", original and penniless, found his happiness in the package of used books not found in New York, that received it the library of 84 Charing Cross Road. This epistolary exchange between Helen and Frank Doel will extend for almost twenty years and beyond the purely commercial aspect, the author makes us witness the birth of a sincere friendship between two characters to the completely different character.
