Varsity Theater To Re-Open This Spring Under Live Nation Management ImageDinkytown's beloved Varsity Theater will re-open in February under the new management and operation of Live Nation - the world's leading live entertainment company.

The 950-capacity Varsity was purchased last year by Hong Kong-based real estate private equity firm GAW Capital Partners.

"We're incredibly excited about the Minneapolis music scene and the role The Varsity will have in growing it even more as part of the Live Nation family," said Josh Lacey, Live Nation talent buyer. "This venue has a unique history as a development room, having hosted a number of breakout artists over the years. While the venue's ambiance will stay intact, a number of upgrades are in progress. All in all, the already great Varsity experience will be even better. We're in the midst of curating as many great artists as possible and believe our kick-off shows are a great way to welcome back the Varsity."

The initial schedule of shows launching February 15 includes:

2/15 - PnB Rock

2/21 - Trevor Hall

2/22 - New Politics

3/2 - Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press

3/6 - Red

3/8 - The Oh Hellos

3/25 - Protest The Hero

4/8 - Todrick Hall

4/13 - Andrew McMahon (sold out)
