Theatre in the Round Presents LYSISTRATA, Now thru 9/30
Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) opens its 61st season as the longest-running theatre in Minneapolis with the classic Greek comedy Lysistrata by Aristophanes in weekend performances, tonight, September 7 through September 30, 2012.
Athens and Sparta have been at war for years when heroine Lysistrata decides to force peace – by persuading women on both sides to withhold sex until their husbands and lovers stop the fighting. From ribald puns to outrageous physical comedy, this bawdy satire has had audiences laughing since it was first performed in 411 B.C.

Ivy Award-winning Craig Johnson wrote this adaptation of the Greek classic and directs a cast of 22 featuring Jean Williamson in the title role. Sets are designed by Michael Hoover, costumes by Carolann Winther, and lighting by Dietrich Poppen.
