The Southern Theater Hosts Southern Exposure 2011, 4/30

The Southern Theater will host Southern Exposure 2011, its 7th annual benefit cabaret, on Saturday, April 30.

Proceeds from the event will support the unique and essential role the Southern plays in the Twin Cities arts community. Festivities will get underway at 6:30pm with food, wine and a silent auction. The evening and the 8:15pm cabaret performance -emceed by B.T., co-host of the Cities 97 Morning Show- will feature excerpt performances from the Southern's 2010-11 theater, dance, and music seasons including; Steampunk Dreams: Imaginary Technologies of the Victorian Era, an upcoming work by Hardcover Theater, Duurbaar: Journeys into horizon, an exploration of histories and pathways, of loss and femininity through the metaphor of water by Ananya Dance Theatre and presentation by Grant Cutler, Mayda, DeVon Gray and Adam Levy from the popular Southern Songbook Series. A live auction and the Southern's trademark cakewalk contest will round out the evening.
