The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts unveiled its 2013-2014 performance season this evening during its annual Season Announcement Event. The diverse schedule will offer a full array of extraordinary theatrical, music and dance experiences: from the Ordway co-produced Miss Saigon, an enchanting production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Wizard of Oz, and a thrilling look at extreme competition in Bring It On: The Musical, to the 2012 Tony Award-winner for Best Revival of a Musical, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. In addition, the season includes a very special appearance of Blue Man Group, the return of the ever popular Broadway Songbook Series and a full line up of World Music & Dance performances.

"The Ordway's mission is to bring joy to our community through the best theater and world music and dance events available today," says Patricia A. Mitchell, Ordway president and CEO.

"We're thrilled to announce such a varied, and extraordinary, selection of productions for the new season."

"The Ordway's ability to bring nationally and internationally recognized productions and artists to our stages continues to enhance the Twin Cities arts community." says James A. Rocco, Ordway's vice president of programming and producing artistic director. "Next year's selection of theatrical productions is an exciting collection of some of the hottest productions available."

Dayna Martinez, Ordway's artistic director of world music, dance and the International Children's Festival adds, "Next year's Target World Music and Dance Series includes artists who join very different musical styles to perform a collection of contemporary spirituals (Lizz Wright and Raul Midón), to those with youthful and universal themes in their work (Rennie Harris Puremovement), all reflecting the diverse range of cultures within our own community." The Ordway is also pleased to be working with TU Dance, celebrating the company's 10th Anniversary and a world premiere work commissioned by the Ordway.

Subscription packages are now on sale (beginning March 4) for the Ordway 2013-2014 Season, with single tickets going on sale in June 2013.
