This fall the Music Box Theatre, Minneapolis, brings a spectacular new event to the Twin Cities. The Haunted Theater will take audiences deep into the depths of what was once The Loring Theater. First opening its doors 90 years ago as a silent movie house in the cold winter of 1920, this cavernous old theater now has stories to tell.

Thick with the atmosphere of times past and chilled with hauntings of long forgotten characters, The Haunted Theater takes visitors on an eerie journey. Guests are led through a spine chilling labyrinth of rooms, basements and corridors where the legends of the theater's past still wait for audiences to entertain.

Local artists, designers and actors have come together under the guidance of Minneapolis producer and director Steve Barberio to make this psychologically thrilling event a new fixture in the Twin Cities fall calendar. A collaboration of emerging artists from small theaters across the metro make up over 25 individuals under the direction of Damon Runnels and Matt Hune. Actors and writers include Roneet Aliza Rohamin, Shawn Boyd, Ruth Virkus, Jerry Seifert and John Zeiler with art direction provided by Sean McArdle and lighting by Jen DeGolier.

Enter through this gateway to the past and be part of an innovative new experience set to become a Halloween classic.

Select performances are followed by an after party event with the possibility of a finAl Halloween bash on October 31st.

The Music Box /Loring Theater
This summer The Directors announced their new role as management of The Music Box Theatre, presenting a wide range of events and transforming the venue into a modern day variety house for the community. Originally named The Loring Theater, The Music Box on 14th Street and Nicollet Avenue, first operated as a silent movie and vaudeville house in the 1920s. Known for years as the home of Triple Espresso, the 440-seat auditorium has been almost vacant since 2008, with the exception of a few occasional rental events. As a historic landmark, the theater's latest reincarnation promises to bring a diverse range of artists and performers to the stage, acting as a new performance platform for the Twin Cities.
