Stages Theatre Company Presents THE FROG PRINCE 10/15

By:

Playwright Jennifer Kirkeby combines two realities in the upcoming world premiere of "The Frog Prince," which begins Oct. 15 at Stages Theatre Company (STC).

The challenge for Kirkeby was writing a script that would be different, but remain true to the story. "I think it is important to bring your own voice. In this case, I came up with the idea of two different realities--the original fairy tale and a present-day story where kids are putting on a play of 'The Frog Prince' at their school."

Being fascinated by transformation is what intrigued her to draft a script for this popular story. "We all go through many transformations in our lives. In the original story, there really isn't an explanation as to why the Prince is turned into a frog, so I made a backup story involving a...you'll just have to see it," says Kirkeby.

"The Frog Prince" runs Oct. 15 through the Nov. 7 and is presented in the Hopkins Jaycees Studio. Tickets are limited, so visit <http://www.stagestheatre.org/> www.stagestheatre.org for performance dates and times, or call the Box Office at (952) 979-1111, Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for children (ages 5 to 17) and seniors (60+). Lap passes are available for free (ages 0 to 2) and $5 for (ages 3 to 4). The show is suitable for all ages.
