HEDWIG, THE FOREIGNER and TAKE IT WITH YOU Slated for The Underground This Month

Back by popular demand! HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH retakes The Underground's stage tomorrow night through Saturday. After a sold-out engagement last season, this special event is in partnership and celebration with Duluth Superior Pride. Alec Schroeder and Tonya Porter are back reprising their roles as Hedwig and Yitzhak, respectively, and they have a few new tricks to show off. The 2014 production also won the Best Local Play honor in the Northland Reader.

TAKE IT WITH YOU is back for its 14th episode on September 15th in The Underground. Special guests include Chaperone Records founder and owner Bob Monahan and musical guest Southwire. Remember to arrive early for the Take It With You Tailgate pre-party hosted by Larua Ness, starting at 6pm on the mezzanine in The Underground. The bar will be stocked, and Chow Haul Mobile Restaurant will be on-site.

Kicking off the 2015-16 season, the Playhouse is hittin' the stage first with a comedic farce by Larry Shue: THE FOREIGNER. Starring many Playhouse veterans (Jason Scorich, Jody Kujawa, and Louisa Scorich to name a few) and directed by returning New York director Dorothy Danner, THE FOREIGNER is outrageously clever and incredibly funny. All Charlie wanted was some peace and quiet, so he figured it wouldn't do him any harm to go away to a lodge and Georgia and masquerade as a foreigner who doesn't speak any English. He soon finds out people will say the most extraordinary things when they think no one understands them! Runs September 17-27.
