Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Chanhassen Dinner Theatres Presents NEWSIESDowntown commuters riding the Metro Transit Light Rail Blue and Green Lines will have something fun to wake up to on their way to work on Thursday, June 7! Cast members of Disney's NEWSIES) will greet commuters on the corner of 5th Street South, between 3rd and 4th Avenues South in Minneapolis (near the Government Plaza and Capella Tower).

As if NEWSIES greeting you with a smile weren't enough, commuters passing by will receive a free Star Tribune newspaper along with a fresh breakfast treat. In addition, the theatre will give out free dinner coupons to productions during its anniversary year.

So why is this happening? Chanhassen Dinner Theatres celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and as part of the celebration they have splashed Disney's NEWSIES across an entire Metro Transit Blue Line Light Rail Train, which features CDT's anniversary and its regional premiere of Disney's NEWSIES!

Remarkably, as Chanhassen Dinner Theatres celebrates 50 years, so does Cub Foods! The two organizations have aligned in a special promotion to be rolled out in all Cub Foods stores in late June. Chanhassen Dinner Theatres show sponsor, Star Tribune, will provide the complimentary 'papes' (newspapers).

Anyone stopping by the location on June 7 from 7:30-8:30am can receive goodies for as long as supplies last.

Metro Transit's Blue Line Light Rail has 31,500 average riders per day, (over 10 million riders in 2017). The Blue Line train garners over 1.7 million impressions on average in a per 4-week period. This line was chosen for Chanhassen Dinner Theatres in the summer due to the increase visibility and ridership during Twins baseball games.
