Experience Hendrix, the all-star tribute concert celebrating Jimi Hendrix's legacy as the most influential electric guitarist in rock history, will play Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. The prestigious lineup scheduled to appear includes Joe Satriani, Billy Cox of Gypsys and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Sacred Steel featuring Robert Randolph, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ernie Isley, David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas from Los Lobos, Brad Whitford from Aerosmith, Doyle Bramhall II, Living Colour, Legendary Howlin' Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin and Chris Layton of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble performing music written by and associated with Jimi Hendrix. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at Noon. Visit www.HennepinTheatreTrust.org or call 1-800-982-2787 for tickets or more information.

Since their first tour in 2004, Experience Hendrix has played to sold-out crowds across the country, giving fans of the iconic rock musician, songwriter and producer a chance to experience such groundbreaking anthems as "Purple Haze," "Hey Joe" and "Red House" played by stellar talent. Called "a night of stirring, boisterous and deeply satisfying guitar work" by the Rocky Mountain News, the tour also played in St. Paul in 2006 as part of the inaugural Wild River Music, Comedy and Film Festival on Harriet Island. Jimi Hendrix, a 1992 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, was ranked #1 in Rolling Stone Magazine's 2003 list of the top 100 guitarists of all time. His legacy as a cultural icon stands undiminished since his death in 1970. His music is still featured in movies and television shows including "Black Hawk Down" and "Entourage" and routinely heard live on stage from musicians including John Mayer, Sting, Ben Harper and many more.
