Chanhassen Dinner Theatres Will Get Raised Up with SISTER ACT

Chanhassen Dinner Theatres (CDT) is pleased to announce the return of one of its most highly-acclaimed productions, SISTER ACT - The Divine Musical Comedy, for a limited fall-winter run on its Main Stage. SISTER ACT will open to a week of preview performances on November 3, 2017. The official opening night is Friday, November 10th. (cast list below)

SISTER ACT, enjoyed its Regional Premiere at CDT in the fall of 2015. The feel-amazing musical comedy smash was hailed, "A jubilant triumph," by the Star Tribune and "A heavenly must-see!" by the Pioneer Press. Featuring original, lush and infectious songs by 8-time Oscar-winner, Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors, Newsies) SISTER ACT tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her away in the last place anyone would expect - a convent! Set around the Christmas holidays, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she also rediscovers her own in a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship.

SISTER ACT will enjoy a very limited 15-week run over the holidays and early winter months and nearly all of the original cast is set to return including Regina Marie Williams in the role of Deloris Van Cartier. Williams was lauded by audiences and critics alike for her delightful and memorable performance in that pivotal role, calling her, "A giant among mortals." (Star Tribune)

We are pleased to welcome back Regina as Deloris, who plays 'Sister Mary Clarence,' made famous by Whoopi Goldberg in the popular film. Regina and Norah have thrilled audiences on every major stage in the Twin Cities and we couldn't be happier to have them back. And altogether, this is an astoundingly talented cast."

SISTER ACT will run through February 24, 2018. SISTER ACT performances: Eight times weekly, Tuesday through Sunday evenings, with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
