In the spring of 2010, Michael Brindisi, tamara Kangas Erickson and Steven L. Peters led a group of investors to purchase the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres business from Thomas K. Scallen. At this time CDT owners have entered into an agreement to purchase the theatre property from Chanhassen Dinner Theatres' founding family, Bloomberg Companies.

Herb and Carolyn Bloomberg built the historic dinner theatre complex in 1968. The 90,000 square foot entertainment complex includes three theatre spaces, theatrical design shops, restaurants, bars, banquet spaces, and retail.

This transaction is a contract-for-deed agreement between Bloomberg Companies and Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. The financial details of the contract are not being made public.

This is an incredibly exciting time for the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and the City of Chanhassen. The Bloomberg family is equally happy about this change of hands. Britta Bloomberg Vice President of Bloomberg Companies stated, "We've been working on this for a long time. It's good to know that Chanhassen Dinner Theatres will continue to welcome guests and bring quality entertainment to its stages for many years to come in the tradition that our parents started 45 years ago. The buyers are long-time friends and associates of our family. We wish them all the best for continued success."

Investor Jim Jensen has been deeply involved in the entire process of the purchase and feels passionately about the importance of this sale. He stated, "This purchase is incredibly exciting in that it reflects the increased levels of success we're having at the theatre and further improves our business model. Most importantly, it puts us in control of our future on behalf of our customers, our employees and the City of Chanhassen." (Jensen additionally serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Minneapolis-based, Think2Perform.)

Michael Brindisi, President and Artistic Director of CDT stated, "From the very beginning, what has motivated this investor group, of which Michelle and I are a part, is the desire to see this great institution continue for future generations. This landmark property deal will ensure the future of Chanhassen Dinner Theatres for generations to come."
