David Sedaris, the New York Times best selling author and National Public Radio humorist, returns to Hennepin Theatre Trust's State Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, he has become one of America's pre-eminent humor writers and has more than seven million copies of his books in print. Immediately following his talk, he will participate in a book signing. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 31, 2009 at noon. Visit www.HennepinTheatreTrust.org or call 1-800-982-2787 for tickets or more information.

His original radio pieces air on NPR's "This American Life" and his essays appear frequently in The New Yorker and were twice included in "The Best American Essays." In 2001, the "literary rock star" became the third recipient of the Thurber Prize for American Humor and was named by Time Magazine as "Humorist of the Year." He and his sister, Amy Sedaris, have collaborated under the name "The Talent Family" and have written six plays which have been produced at Lincoln Center, La Mama and the Drama Department in New York City. He has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word and Best Comedy Album.
