Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, with Beau Jest by James Sherman. Performances for this hilariously charming family comedy begin Thursday, November 16 and run through Saturday, December 23. Tickets are now on sale.

Sarah is facing the age-old dilemma - what do you do when you know your parents won't approve of the guy you're dating. Sarah is a nice Jewish girl whose parents want her married to a nice Jewish boy. They have never met her boyfriend, a WASP executive name Chris Kringle. She tells them she is dating a Jewish doctor and they insist on meeting him. She plans a dinner party and, over the heated protest of Chris, employs an escort service to send her a Jewish date to be Dr. Steinberg. Instead they send Bob Schroeder, an aspiring actor, who agrees to perform the impersonation. Hilarity ensues in this charming family comedy with a tender heart.

The cast of Beau Jest consists of two newcomers to the Williamston stage, Fred Buchalter and Vanessa Sawson, along with Sandra Birch (Summer Retreat, The Lion in Winter), Michael Lopetrone (Taking Shakespeare), Patrick Loos (Summer Retreat, Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol) and David Wolber (1984). Williamston Theatre's Artistic Director, Tony Caselli (1984, Pulp) is the Director for Beau Jest. The production team includes Scenic Design by Bartley H. Bauer (Murder for Two, The Nerd), Lighting Design by Shannon T. Schweitzer (1984, Pulp), Costume Design by Stephanie Henderson, Sound Design by John Lepard (Murder for Two) and Props Design by Michelle Raymond (The Taming, Murder for Two). The Stage Manager is Stefanie Din (The Taming, A Painted Window).

Starting November 25th there will be 3:00PM performances added to the remaining Saturdays of the run. The first four performances of Beau Jest, November 16 - 19, are Preview performances where audience members will have the opportunity to take part in the process of creating a show by participating in a talkback session with the director following each performance.
