Who Wants Cake? is thrilled to announce their Fall 2010 season! This is their 4th fall season announcement and it is filled with exciting things as they branch out for the first time to a theatre other than The Ringwald, bring a spooky Detroit premiere, and celebrate the holidays in an other-wordly style.

The season officially kicks off October 8 with a remounting of last years phenomenally popular Evil Dead: The Musical. This year it will be bigger, bloodier...and downtown! In partnership with Olympia Entertainment, Who Wants Cake? brings their production to The City Theatre, located inside Hockeytown Cafe at 2301 Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. Evil Dead: The Musical will again be directed by Joe Plambeck and feature much of the same cast, including Wilde Award winner Mitchell Koory. Performances will be October 8-October 31, 2010. Evil Dead will play Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. There will be 2 midnight shows Saturday, October 23 and Saturday,October 30. Tickets are currently on sale and more information can be found at www.WhoWantsCakeTheatre.com.

Next, we are pleased to bring the Detroit premiere of Shining City, Conor McPherson's spooky ghost story.
Shining City is set in Dublin, where a guilt-ridden man reaches out to a therapist after seeing the ghost of his recently deceased wife. Wrestling with his own demons, the therapist can only do so much to help. Routine visits between the two men quickly become a gripping struggle to survive, changing both of them for the rest of their lives. Directed by Jamie Warrow, Shining City features Joe Bailey, Cassandra McCarthy, Jamie Richards, and Matthew Turner Shelton and will play Saturdays and Mondays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM, October 16-November 1 at The Ringwald Theatre in Ferndale.

Finally, the holidays will bring Christmas on Mars, Harry Kondoleon's strikingly original Obie-winning absurdist farce that makes hilarious use of a remarkably inventive theatricality to explore deeper themes of loneliness, love, sexual panic and the scars of unhappy childhood. A vapid male model, his pregnant girlfriend, a gay flight attendant and an intrusive mother add up to a Christmas you'll never forget. Christmas on Mars will be directed by Jamie Warrow and will open on Friday, November 19 and run through Monday, December 13. Showtimes will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM.

There may also be a couple of other holiday surprises in store as we get closer to the Yuletide season!
