Theatre And Dance at Wayne Opens its 55th Season with THE UNDERPANTS

Theatre and Dance at Wayne is excited to welcome audiences as it embarks on its 55th season. On Friday, September 29th, the season officially opens with Steve Martin's uproarious comedy The Underpants, adapted from the classic German farce by Carl Sternheim. Everyone in the Metropolitan Detroit area is invited to enjoy a raucous evening of chaotic fun, as they watch the tale of an embarrassing public mishap, and the zany chaos that follows.
Louise, a housewife living in turn-of-the-century Germany, finds herself stifled by the strict confines of her lackluster marriage. After suffering a wardrobe malfunction at a Sunday afternoon parade, her life suddenly takes an exciting turn as her risqué display has multiple suitors vying for her attention right under her unobservant husband's nose. Themes of modesty, marriage, and the trappings of domesticity are all called into question as Louise experiences an exciting whirlwind melodrama in her own life.
